Mural #4

Zenith Chromacolor Reboot

The Zenith Chromacolor mural, originally painted by Richard Bailey in the mid-1970s, served as a vivid advertisement for Zenith’s revolutionary color TVs. Part of a broader marketing push that included on-air commercials and print ads, the mural prominently features red, green, and blue circles, symbolizing the RGB color spectrum essential to color display technology—a concept that remains foundational in today’s digital screens.

Mural #4, standing as a testament to the advertising strategies of its era while hinting at the future dominance of RGB pixel technology, was carefully restored and repainted in the summer of 2023 by Erik Franklin and Kevin Heath. This restoration effort preserved its historical value and ensured its continued relevance as a link between past and present visual technology.
